Australia is suffering from a large skills shortage!

As the economy expands very quickly, this country of just 21 million people is looking for skilled and educated people to fill certain jobs.

The newly elected Australian government has released a list of 17 occupations which will be their priority. They have promised to finance 450,000, (nearly half a million!!) training places over the next 4 years to tackle this shortage.

Here are some examples:

Health  and Community Services is the area where most business visas were issued recently in Australia. The Diploma of Community Welfare work train students to become members of the AIWCW (Australian Institute of Welfare and Community Workers) and to work as Welfare Workers.

Motor Mechanics - It has been reported that over 1500 motor mechanics left the industry in the past 18 months! “The Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (one year) incorporated with a Diploma of Business Management trains students in the technical and business management aspects of the industry.

Hairdressers -  The Certificate III in Hairdressing and Diploma of Salon Management offers usually training and unpaid work experience in established salons.

Furthermore our Certificate III in Graphic Pre Press (and Diploma of Multimedia) trains students to become Graphic Pre Press Tradespersons. Students usually are successfully assessed by TRA.
